Two retail associations that merged late last year announced Wednesday that the new organization will be known as "Shop!"
The Association for Retail Environments in Hollywood, Fla., and Point of Purchase Advertising International in Chicago combined in October 2015. The new name will include the tagline "Enhancing retail environments and experiences."
"After a thorough vetting process that included numerous focus groups and input from many of our members, our association is proud to announce this new name and immediately begin our renewed focus to advance retail environments and experiences through our programs, events and publications," said Steven Weiss, CEO of Shop!
The next issue of the association's flagship magazine, Retail Environments, will include the new brand. The group plans to unveil its new website at Shopassociation.org next week.
Shop! currently has more than 2,000 member companies.
"Everything our members build, design and implement at the store level is driven by the needs of the shopper and ultimately is created to entice consumers to shop!" board Chairman Bob Rosean said.
